Camping in the heart of the Guadalest Valley

Nature, tranquility, and unforgettable trails await you

Book now

Welcome to «Benimantell» Camping!

The campsite is not yet open, but we are working hard to make this happen as soon as possible. We hope to welcome you very soon and share with you the beauty of the Guadalest Valley. The campsite will be located in the heart of the Guadalest Valley, surrounded by mountains, pine forests, and spectacular views. Comfort, spaciousness, mountain air, and tranquility: all of this is coming very soon.

Currently, the campsite project is in the development and administrative processing phase. Meanwhile, on the plot, we are exclusively carrying out maintenance and restoration works typical of agricultural land, covered by the submitted Responsible Declaration (Declaración Responsable).

These works include the reconstruction of retaining walls and the stabilization of the ground following the landslides suffered, as well as the installation of perimeter fencing. It is important to emphasize that these actions do not constitute the start of the campsite construction nor do they imply, in any way, the beginning of tourist activity.

We are creating a place where you can rest your soul.

Our Philosophy: Care for Nature

The key principle that forms the basis of Benimantell Camping is the responsible use of resources. According to the planned project design, solar panels will be installed on the roofs of the buildings to fully cover our energy needs. We pay special attention to water conservation: all rainwater will be collected in a special tank, helping to maintain the region's water balance. Furthermore, all "grey" water will be treated and used for the irrigation of numerous green areas. By staying with us, you will contribute to the conservation of Spain's unique nature.

Location and Surroundings

Within walking distance of the campsite are two urban centers: Benimantell and Guadalest, where you will find numerous museums, traditional cuisine restaurants, and viewpoints.

Around 20 hiking routes start directly from the campsite, signposted throughout their entire course, crossing the most beautiful and, at the same time, most accessible places in the Guadalest Valley, with impressive panoramic views for dozens of kilometers.

The campsite is located on the outskirts of the municipality of Benimantell, next to the sports complex. The most convenient way to reach the campsite is to take the exit from the CV-70 road onto an asphalted path that begins 50 meters west of the town limit.

View of the campsite
From almost any point of the campsite, spectacular views open up of the mountain ranges framing the Guadalest Valley.

Construction Progress

We planned to start the works at the end of 2024 and open the campsite in the spring of 2025, but it is now clear that this is not realistic.

November 5, 2024

HURRAY!!! We can finally continue with the works!!!

We now have the Urbanistic Compatibility Certificate (Certificado de Compatibilidad Urbanística). The document we have been waiting exactly 8 months for, since March 5.

November 29, 2024

We are pleased to inform that the Benimantell Town Council is making all necessary efforts for the correct and timely execution of the project. We are fully aware of the magnitude and complexity of the administrative work carried out by municipal employees and sincerely thank them for their dedication to the development and prosperity of the entire municipality. Their professionalism and commitment to excellence constitute a solid support in achieving common goals.

December 22, 2024

Work has begun on the plot to restore the land profile. We have started the reconstruction of the destroyed natural stone retaining walls around the perimeter of the plot and on the interior terraces, as well as the elimination of the consequences of landslides.

January 3, 2025

The Benimantell Town Council denied our request for a temporary water supply connection to carry out the restoration works on the stone retaining walls, arguing that water is not necessary for the construction of such walls and that the masonry must be carried out using only stone, without mortar. We would be delighted to restore the walls without using cement; however, due to the high plasticity and mobility of the clay soil, this construction method is not applicable.

January 7, 2025

Today we were informed by phone that they will finally connect us to the water supply, and we will be able to restore the damaged terrace walls using mortar, in accordance with construction regulations.

The water connection will also allow our gardener to begin landscaping work.

Contract with ECUV for License Expediting

On March 12, we signed a contract with ECUV (Entidad Colaboradora Urbanística de la Comunitat Valenciana), an officially accredited Urban Development Collaboration Entity.

ECUV specializes in the technical certification of urban projects, accelerating the licensing process through detailed analysis and prior coordination with regulatory bodies.

Within the framework of this collaboration, ECUV will carry out an integral review of the campsite project and process the necessary sectoral reports to obtain the building license.

This will significantly reduce administrative processing times and increase the transparency of the process.

March 25, 2025

Since March 24, we have considerably increased the pace of the retaining wall restoration.

The work is being carried out simultaneously in three zones.

📄 New Stage in Project Documentation Preparation

Today we received the official response from ECUV regarding our technical documentation. This is an important step towards the opening of Benimantell Camp.

ECUV has carried out a preliminary review of the documentation presented and has submitted a list of additional documents that must be provided in accordance with the requirements of Law 6/2014, of July 25, on prevention, quality, and environmental control of activities in the Valencian Community.

The list includes, among others:

  • Activity license and project endorsed by a competent technician;
  • Complete environmental impact study and acoustic study;
  • Landscape integration plan, fire protection plan, and health safety plan;
  • As well as various formal documents (urbanistic file, statistical form, proof of fee payment, etc.).

In this phase, our team and collaborating specialists have already begun working on the pending points. We are moving forward with determination and aim to fully comply with all regulations so that our campsite is not only cozy and beautiful but also safe and environmentally friendly.

We are restoring the terraces and retaining walls

We are progressively recovering the original profile of the land where the campsite could be located in the future. For now, it is agricultural land, and we are restoring its functionality as agricultural soil, ensuring that everything is done correctly and safely.

Current Status of Restoration Works

The earthmoving works for the recovery of the relief damaged by landslides are practically finished.

The plot is distributed into four terraces, adapted to the natural relief of the land, as seen in the orthophotography. Although the land currently still has agricultural use, we look to the future with optimism and are developing the campsite project, which is in the processing phase. According to the current version of the project:

  • On the first terrace, located at the lowest part of the ground, the multifunctional building (with reception, shop, and bar-restaurant), the outdoor pool, and a large parking area for cars will be located.
  • The second terrace will include several plots, a green relaxation area, and a children's park.
  • On the third terrace, additional plots and the sanitary pavilion (visible in the image) will be situated.
  • The fourth terrace, the highest one, will be entirely dedicated to plots.

The plots for motorhomes and caravans will have different sizes, from 9 × 11 m to 7 × 9 m. The plots for tents (not visible in the image) will be slightly smaller, from 5 × 7 m to 6 × 8 m.

The minimum width of the interior paths will be 4.5 meters, and on two-way sections, no less than 7 meters.

Orthophotography (May 2025)

Thanks to the careful restoration of the relief, we have ensured that from almost any point of the plot, wide, unobstructed views open up towards the majestic Guadalest Valley.

Completion of the Perimeter Retaining Walls Restoration

The restoration works on the perimeter retaining walls are in their final phase.

The entire exterior wall of the plot is built with yellow stone from the La Nucía quarry.

The restoration of the interior retaining walls of the terraces continues at full pace. For these walls, we use a very elegant and textured stone, with a beautiful multicolored pattern from Altea. This stone is very similar to what is preserved in the original sections of the walls.

The highest retaining wall is built at the entrance of the plot where, according to the project, the parking next to the reception-shop is planned.

ECUV and OCA Certificates Obtained

For the past eight months, we have been waiting for the completion of the project review by ECUV to move to the next official phase: the building license processing.

On November 10, we received two key communications from ECUV with positive OCA review certificates and ECUV A1 and B1 certificates of conformity.

Based on these documents, we presented the complete campsite project file to the Benimantell Town Council to obtain the building license.

In this way, the project has officially moved to the municipal approval level. A very important step forward!

The new "rustic" facade of the multifunctional building has been approved by the council

We continue sharing news about the «Benimantell» campsite project, which step by step is developing and defining itself in dialogue with the town council. One of the key topics in this phase has been the multifunctional building, the complex that will house the restaurant, reception, and shop.

The Benimantell Town Council expressed its desire for this building to integrate more naturally into the surrounding landscape and to adjust to the canons of the classic «rustic» style. Based on this request, we redesigned the facade, paying special attention to how the building's volume adapts to the relief and visually dialogues with the existing buildings and natural surroundings.

The result of this work is an updated facade concept, presented in the form of a series of renders attached to the project. This proposal is now considered the main architectural solution for the multifunctional building of the «Benimantell» campsite.

The project has taken another significant step: we have agreed with the municipality on the exterior image of the campsite's key building and have fixed this solution in the project documentation.

January 7, 2026

We have received all the necessary materials for the installation of the exterior and interior fencing of the plot.

The perimeter fencing is executed in accordance with the requirements of the municipal General Urban Development Plan (PGOU) and is harmonized with other municipal areas located in the immediate vicinity.

As can be seen in the following photographs, the interior terraces of the plot have a considerable height, so a safe fence at the edge of the terraces is mandatory.

The terrace fences are made entirely of wood, with galvanized steel supports, and will serve not only to guarantee safety but also as a decorative element of the space.
